Recent News
The Festival Choir is a mixed-voice, auditioned choir of students, faculty, staff, and community members from throughout Westchester County. The Festival Choir performs major choral masterpieces with orchestra twice each year: Christmas and late spring as part of the Music at Concordia Concert Series.
This 2008–2009 season, the Festival Choir performed Rutter Gloria on November 23d at 4:00pm, and the Mozart Requiem and Britten Rejoice in the Lamb on April 19 at 4:00pm. The Festival Choir is accompanied by the Festival Orchestra, comprised of Concordia students, Concordia faculty, and guest instrumentalists.
For the 2009-2010 academic year, The Festival Choir will meet on Thursdays from 4:30–6:00pm in the Sommer Center. Dr. Jason Thoms is the Director of the Festival Choir and Orchestra. Students may register for 0.5 credits per semester or may audit the course (MUS 140B). This course is exempt from the overload charge.
